When doing this, we start from the down spouts and work away from them as this ensures that we are not pushing large amounts of debris in to the drainage spouts which could compound any drainage problems. After this step is completed, we fire up a pressure washer with a medium- to low-pressure nozzle (but high water volume) and flush out the remaining debris that is in the interior of the gutters. This is an often underestimated step because this ensures that your cleaning will last for a longer period of time because no dirt is left behind.

Grease, gum, and oil can not be removed quickly and effectively without the use of hot-water. Grease begins to melt or loosen from the surface of concrete at 165 degrees Fahrenheit. Our hot-water pressure washers can heat the water up to 200 degrees for a fast and effective clean. This allows us to clean with or without the use of emulsifiers and solvents.

With our rotating surface cleaners, we can quickly clean large areas with greater precision. These professional tools allow for a consistent finish without streaks from a wand. However, surface cleaners can not remove gum without the direct force that can only be supplied from a pressure washing wand that delivers extremely hot water, so we have one nearby.

Don’t try to remove gum with anything other than hot-water and a pressure washer! If you spray a gum-solvent and scrape or peel the gum from the surface, you risk damaging or etching the concrete.

Well the weather has been frightful this January! It sure doesn’t rain too much in Southern California, but when it does it is important to not be caught off guard.

At KC Power Clean, we receive many phone calls each year, especially during the rain season, to clean gutters and downspouts for residences and even industrial complexes in Orange County and Los Angeles County. In different areas of the States, it is common to see more leaves in the gutters and less soot and sludge build-up like we get here in Southern California. The soot and dirt is very messy when it is wet and it not a fun task to tackle if your “under-tooled.” We have found that the best and most efficient way to clean them is to power wash them out with a medium-pressure nozzel. This ensures a thorough clean and it is easy to flush out the downspouts.
